Scrypted Nest Pilot

Privacy policy

Scrypted Nest Pilot is a personal household integration operated by Jonathan Elizondo. This policy describes its use of Google Nest data through Google Device Access and Scrypted, including recording through Apple HomeKit Secure Video.

Data accessed and its purpose

With the Google account owner’s permission, the integration accesses authorized device and home identifiers, device names and status, supported camera events, and camera media made available by Google Device Access. Media may include video, audio, and event images, depending on the device and permissions granted.

This information is used to connect the household’s devices to Scrypted and Apple Home, provide camera viewing and notifications, and support HomeKit Secure Video recording. Google authorization uses OAuth tokens so the connection can continue operating; the public website does not request a Google password.

Storage and recording

Scrypted retains integration settings and authorization credentials in the household’s Scrypted installation while the connection is configured. Camera media is processed as needed to provide streaming and the Apple Home connection.

Recording for this pilot uses Apple HomeKit Secure Video. Apple describes recordings as encrypted by the home hub and stored in iCloud, with the last 10 days of activity available in the Home app. Recording availability and access depend on the household’s camera settings and Apple services. Any Nest recordings maintained separately by Google remain subject to the Google account’s services and settings. Revoking this pilot’s access does not automatically delete recordings already held by Apple or Google, or clips previously saved by a household member.

Sharing and use

Data is used for this personal household integration. Google provides authorized device data to Scrypted; Scrypted makes the selected camera functionality available to Apple Home. Apple handles HomeKit Secure Video storage in iCloud. Access by household members is controlled through the household’s Scrypted and Apple Home permissions.

The pilot does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, marketing, or training general-purpose AI models. Google user data is used only to provide the household functionality described here. Google and Apple operate their own services under their respective privacy policies.

Your choices and deletion

You can change device permissions or unlink the integration in Google’s Partner Connections Manager. This stops the integration’s authorized access. To remove retained integration settings and credentials, contact the operator to remove the connection from the household’s Scrypted installation. Manage or delete HomeKit Secure Video recordings in Apple Home, and manage any separate Nest recordings through Google’s services.

This public website

This Cloudflare-hosted website serves informational pages. It has no sign-in form, camera viewer, advertising, or added analytics scripts, and it does not store camera footage or OAuth tokens. Cloudflare processes ordinary web-request information, such as IP addresses and request details, to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

This policy will be updated if the pilot’s data handling changes. The effective date appears above.
